A Blazing End to Summer

blue blazerSummer may be ending but keep looking sophisticated and elegant no matter the temperature with our custom made blazers. Great for pairing with chinos, slacks or jeans, Knot Standard blazers are a great way to transition from summer to the cooler days of fall.

Historically sports jackets and blazers were stylistically two different things. Sport jackets evolved in the mid 19th century, mostly coming in patterned or textured fabrics.

Blazers were less formal, sporting naval touches like brass buttons. The term blazer is thought to have originated in the early 1800s with a ladies’ rowing club at the University of Cambridge, named so due to the bright red hue of the jackets.

Both derived from the need for a more casual, comfortable yet elegant look for non office wear and both are worn without matching pants.

A blue blazer is a closet staple. Navy blazers can be worn anywhere, anytime. Light blue blazers work well with darker pants and a white shirt. The key to daring is to mix it with restraint.
