7 fun ideas for recycling gift ties you didn’t want

If you are one of those guys who gets ties for every Christmas, Father’s Day and birthday, you will quickly accumulate an oddball collection only a few of which actually work with your wardrobe. We’ve come up with seven different uses for those old, unwanted ties. Once you’re done going through our list, replenish your stock of ties with ones that you do really want with our new collection of neck ties. We recommend the navy with white polka dots as a perfect wardrobe staple.

1. Sew on a clasp and use it as a camera strap.

2. Collect 10 old ties, ask your wife to sew them together and make a lampshade for the nightstand in your mother-in-law’s bedroom.

3. Make tie snakes. Just add buttons and a felt red tongue to the tie end. Take them to the office and give them to colleagues who get on your nerves.

4. Wear it as a belt. Fred Astaire was known to use his ties as belts. Normally we would say NEVER wear your tie as a belt but maybe just this once.
