Linen

Linen is a remarkable fabric for men’s suits as it keeps you cool during summer and warm during the winters.

Apart from the distinctive soft and casual style, linen suits for men offer high comfort levels. Linen is loose-fitting and therefore forgiving for the less than perfect physique. The fabric is lightweight and very durable, too. It is the perfect fabric for nonchalant sang-froid.

The downside is that linen wrinkles easily and does not wear well. So wear a linen suit around the office and it will look terrible after a day at the desk. Linen men’s suits are best suited to summer events or special occasions like outdoor weddings and parties.

When matching a shirt to your linen suit, choose a long-sleeve example in cotton, silk or linen; go for a colour that complements or contrasts with the colour of the suit. Bright-colored shirts for a white or beige suit will make you the centre of attention, while muted tones work well for a darker linen suit.

The two most popular types of lines used in men’s suits are Irish and Italian. Of the two, Irish linen is regarded as superior as it is heavier and does not wrinkle so easily.
