How would you describe your personal style?

I’m usually dressed up every single day, no matter where I’m going or what I’m doing. Jeans, gingham shirt, and sport’s coat if I’m just around town hanging out. Usually for work, it’s a blue or white dress shirt, slacks, and a tie. Also a pocket square, I always have a pocket square.

“In the custom suit business, it’s not like a normal experience where someone can try a suit on right then and there. You have to use your imagination. You need to look as cool as you can get so you can see what our stuff actually looks like.”

What do you do for a living?

I’m the regional sales manager for Knot Standard in Dallas, TX. I oversee everything happening in the Dallas showroom as well as seeing clients. In the custom suit business, it’s not like a normal experience where someone can try a suit on right then and there. You have to use your imagination. You need to look as cool as you can get so you can see what our stuff actually looks like. I think it’s very important that you convey your personal style in your everyday dress.

As a working dad, give us an idea of what your day to day is like.

I get my daughter every other weekend, which is nowhere near enough. I live in Lovett, TX but work in Dallas so I travel back and forth every other weekend.

“Oh absolutely. She’s got great style too, I pick out her outfits.”

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I was a golf pro for 8 years, so anytime I have, I like to be on the course. Other then that, hanging with my daughter — we collect comic books, go to the park, and watch movies together.

Tell us about your daughter.

Her name is Adalyn Grace, and she’s 4. We’re in that phase where she loves princess and Barbies, so I dress Barbies with her. I also just started taking her golfing with me. She loves to go to the driving range with me and hit the balls herself, so I really enjoy being able to share that with her.

Would you say your daughter thinks you’re a pretty hip, stylish dad?

Oh absolutely. She’s got great style too, I pick out her outfits.

“I think you can pull style inspiration from anywhere though. I’m 32, so I like to dress with a bit more sophistication. I think Matthew McConaughey and Brad Pitt have great style. And they’re dad’s as well!”

Who are some of your style inspirations?

Well I’m the only one that dresses up in my family, I don’t know where it came from. I think you can pull style inspiration from anywhere though. I’m 32, so I like to dress with a bit more sophistication. I think Matthew McConaughey and Brad Pitt have great style. And they’re dad’s as well!

What is an accessory or staple piece you think every man needs in his wardrobe?

Every guy has to have a navy blue blazer, it can have a bit of pattern in it. But that’s a given because it’s something you can wear anywhere and dress up or down. Personally, I always have to have a pocket square in. I always have a variety of those. For example, you can wear a sport coat with a nice v-neck t-shirt and dress it up with a pocket square.
