Width of Trousers

The width of the trousers with men’s suit should be carefully gauged for comfort: they should fit you without being too big or too tight.

So before you go shopping to buy a pair of fitted trousers, measure your waistline with the help of a measuring tape so that you know your exact size.

While taking the measurement of the waist, measure around the fullest part of the stomach or waist or right under the bottom ribs, whichever seems to be greater. The measurement of the waist is generally taken with the coat off around the body. For measuring, place the tape directly on the shirt, just over the hip bones and at the level of the navel.

Also be sure that you take the measurement without pulling your stomach inward. Insert your finger between the body and tape to assure proper ease and comfort while wearing your men’s suit jacket.

For a comfortable yet still correct fit, add a couple of inches to the actual measurement. As always, it’s best to enlist the help of a professional tailor to get the measurements of your trouser perfect.
