Fabric For Spring: Seersucker

Seersucker is always associated as the fabric of summer – both for its construction and its aesthetic. Lightweight and breathable, it’s the ideal fabric for the hotter days of the year. Unique in it’s weave, seersucker fabric is threaded to make it bunch together giving it its signature “pucker.” That pucker is what allows it to be so breathable and light, since it is held farther away from the body than other fabrics. Seersucker is a great option for warmer weather and longer days since it is low maintenance and doesn’t require any prior pressing before wear.

This season is the first time we’ve designed seersucker pants. Available in a multitude of colors, these are the perfect pants (both in style and make) to take you through your work day and into the long summer evenings.

PRO TIPS:

Get your seersucker blazers and suits unlined – if you get your garments lined, it defeats the purpose of seersucker fabrics which are already meant to keep you cool

For seersucker trousers, add a functional button tab instead of belt loops for a classic, cleaner look

Opt for a a more casual fit with your seersucker trousers – you don’t want to get a slim fit with this fabric. In addition, go for a shorter break or a cuffed hem
