Poplin is a strong fabric with fine ribbing. It can be made with just about any yarn – originally silk was used, but these days poplins come in wool, cotton, rayon, or any mixture of these. The fabric does not crease easily, it has a soft appearance, and depending on the blend it can be surprisingly durable.
