5 Tips to Beat the Post-Holiday Blues

The first weeks of the New Year can suck. Everyone’s broke and tired from the weeks of holidays but settling back into the normal, everyday routine feels like death warmed over.

Knot Standard loves the slow, cold days of January because it means time to shake off the old and take up some new habits and, of course, pick up some great new clothes. So here’s five tips on how to beat the post-holiday blues and have a brilliant start to 2014.

  • The morning buzz – Let those New Year Resolutions work for you instead of against you. Get on a treadmill or walk planks down at the park before heading off to work. Early morning exercise sets the tone for a motivating, feel-good, dress-great kind of day. Shower, suit up and see the difference in your whole attitude.
  • Up your neck game – Get that Classic Blue Glen Plaid scarf you’ve been eyeing and knot it up. Nothing works better on a cold, breezy day than looking great while also keeping your neck warm.
  • Pay it behind – Going through a toll booth or at a drive thru? Pay for the car behind you the next time you’re in line. Chances are, at the very least, that act of kindness will make you smile and nothing feels better than giving someone else a reason to smile too.
  • Go pink – Turn heads at the office with pastel pink. While everyone else is looking conservative and cold in dark browns and black, stand out from the crowd and add a touch of early spring to the workplace with our Director Pink Twill Shirt
  • Plants and knick knacks – Another great way to liven up a boring workspace, get some plants to improve air quality and add color, vibrancy and life to the office.
