Rundown of the Runway

Written by Julia Lewis

No one could ignore the enthusiasm and excitement that was pulsating along the streets of NYC this past week. Men’s fashion week made it’s return to the concrete jungle after a decade long break, and what a return it was. We compiled some of our favorite looks from the shows as well as analyzed which trends are already starting to take effect for the Spring 2016 season.

With a more relaxed feel to the collection, Kors presented looks that a true tailored gentleman would wear on vacation. You can never go wrong with a staple linen pant, tailored and fitted to just the right length. Layering it with a fitted shirt gives an overall asethetic of a man in control and on the go.

Undeniably cool and sophisticated, this collection was by far the talk of the town. With the fine, detailed fitting of three piece suits, to casual ready to wear trousers and loose fitting shirts…Varvatos conveys an air of ultimate power and control through his clothes.

With monochromatic pairings, mixed in with contrasting patterns and textiles, Perry Ellis combined classic American menswear with a take on the bold and nautical. The expression of all those factors reminds one to be more playful with their look, while still conveying an air of classic cool.

Thom Browne took us to new heights (literally) with his 2016 Spring collection. We are all over the modern take on the tailored trouser. Paired with longer, box cut blazers, this collection is taking a daredevil approach to the classic suit.

Todd Snyder brought relaxed feel with sharp, city slicker tones and fits. A perfect blend of casual and polished, we loved the mix of soft fabrics with a sophisticated trouser and jacket. The appearance of the short suit look was well received, and conveyed an element of laidback chic.
