Seasonal Suits

Even if you like to follow trends in men’s suits, it is important to have some basics in your wardrobe before you start experimenting. But there is certainly enough diversity in fabrics, styles and colors of men’s suits to match the different seasons.

• Fall/winter: The easy options – darker colors and earth tone, warm wear such as three-piece suits and perhaps heavy, tweedy styles.

• Spring/summer: A time for lighter colors and lighter fabrics – cotton, linen, “tropical” lightweight wool. During springtime in particular, men can experiment with more bright and bold colors such as yellow, navy, electric blue, olive, and burgundy. For summer, cotton men’s suits are a great choice for looking attractive and feeling comfortable. People who are dark in complexion should avoid using dark shades during summer as it makes them look darker.

• All year round: Neutral colors and simple or no patterns. There’s no reason why you can’t wear a standard charcoal worsted wool at any time of year.
